FAQ
XAENNY is the studio. Markdown Generator, Timestamp Generator, and Discord Moderation are the tools. Open a question below, or read the guides in the docs.
Studio
XAENNY
The studio behind xaenny.net.
XAENNY is a small tools studio. The public site is xaenny.net. Markdown Generator, Timestamp Generator, and Discord Moderation are the live tools.
No. It is not a Discord bot company, not an official Discord product, and not affiliated with Discord Inc.
Email contact@xaenny.net.
Docs is the product guide. Terms of Service and Privacy Policy cover the legal side.
Tool
Markdown
The editor at /markdown.
A public editor for Discord markdown. Open it at /markdown. Type on the left and see a Discord-style message on the right. No sign-in.
Bold, italics, underline, strike, headings, subtext, lists, masked links, quotes, inline code, fenced code with highlighting, spoilers, and backslash escapes. Same family of markers Discord uses in chat.
Tool
Timestamp
The generator at /timestamp.
A public builder for Discord timestamp tokens. Open it at
/timestamp. Pick a date, copy
<t:unix:style>, and paste it in Discord.
No sign-in.
Default, short and long time, short and long date, short and long date/time, and relative (for example 3 years ago). Discord shows each reader that same instant in their own time zone.
Tool
Discord Moderation
The XMOD bot & console at /moderation-tool-2.
A Discord-style moderation console for the servers your team runs, powered by the XMOD bot you invite. Your whole staff works from one browser screen (or the desktop app) at /moderation-tool-2 — live chat, one-click punishments, AutoMod and the Zap role.
It is a bot on your own server, not a user-account automation, and it is not affiliated with Discord Inc. Discord’s own rules still apply.
Yes. The sign-in screen has Try demo without an account — a sample workspace that never touches your Discord account. Anything you do in the demo stays in your browser and is never sent to Discord. Leave the demo to return to the gate.
Open the tool and sign in with Discord. The setup guide walks you through it: add the XMOD bot to your server, invite your staff, and start your free trial or pick a plan. Your first team is created for you automatically.

Want to run your own server team? To become Team Manager, write contact@xaenny.net.
In Team Manager → Add bot, click Invite XMOD and authorize it on your Discord server. Discord returns you to the tool and we link the server automatically — you can also paste a Server ID. You need the Manage Server permission on that server to add a bot. See Add the bot.
Almost always the gateway intents. If that server runs on your own bot application, open it on the Discord developer portal, go to Bot, and switch on all three: Presence, Server Members and Message Content. Discord refuses the entire connection when the bot asks for an intent that is switched off, so it is not that one feature goes missing - online status, member sorting, typing indicators and voice channels all go with it. Bot Settings will say Used disallowed intents. See Add the bot.
Only what it actually uses, never blanket control of your server: Kick, Ban, Timeout and Move Members for punishments, Manage Roles for role actions and the Zap role, Manage Channels for Zap's per-channel denials, Manage Messages to delete posts, View Channels and Read Message History to see the server, Send Messages, Send Messages in Threads, Manage Threads, Embed Links and Add Reactions for chat, and Change Nickname for its own nickname. One consequence worth knowing: a private channel that denies View Channels to XMOD's role will not appear in the console at all - add its role to that channel to moderate there. See Add the bot.
Yes. In Team Manager → Add bot, every linked server is listed with the bot it runs; open Manage bot on one and paste your Application ID and bot token from the Discord developer portal - we check the token with Discord before saving it, store it encrypted, and never show it again. That server then runs on your bot and stops using XMOD entirely, so you invite your bot to it and never need ours. Each server in a team can carry a different bot, so a community you moderate sees one that belongs to them. The catch is that the three privileged intents must be enabled on your application: if they are off, Discord refuses the connection and Team Manager tells you, rather than quietly falling back to XMOD. Remove the application any time to go back to the shared bot; that deletes the token from our side, and resetting it in the developer portal makes our copy useless anyway. See Add the bot.
A team owns the subscription and the servers linked to it. The person who owns it is the Super Team Manager. Staff roles are: Super Team Manager (runs the team and billing), Team Manager (adds/removes members and configures the bot), and Team Member (moderates). Manage everyone in Team Manager → People. Details: Teams & roles.
On the Updates page, in the menu once you are signed in, or from the Updates tile on your Dashboard. It lists every release we have shipped, newest first, with what was added, fixed and removed in each. The tile carries a count of anything published since you last looked.
The console also pops the newest release once when you open it. Dismissing that popup does not lose it — the Updates page is where it stays.
A seat is one staff member on your team. Each plan includes a set number — Starter 3, Pro 10, Team 30, and among the one-off plans Pro Founder 10, Team Founder 50, Team Lifetime 50. On Team and the one-off plans you can add more seats at €1 each. When a plan is full, adding another member is blocked until you free a seat or buy more.
Starter €6.99/mo · Pro €13.99/mo · Team €20/mo, plus Pro Founder (€160.77 for 24 months, paid once) and one Team Founder (€362 for 24 months) and one Team Lifetime (€322, no end date, 24-month minimum) — each sold a single time. Custom is Team plus extra servers (€4 each) and extra staff seats (€1 each). Monthly or annual (annual = one month free). Everything is on the pricing page.
No VAT is charged — small-business scheme, § 19 UStG.
No. A Founder plan is one payment for a fixed run of 24 months, not a subscription: nothing renews, you are never charged again, and neither side can end it early. Once the 14-day withdrawal period has passed there is no refund for changing your mind, beyond your statutory rights.
Both Founder plans run the same 24 months and then simply end: the team drops to the inactive tier and paid features stop until you start a new plan. We e-mail you before that happens, so it is never a surprise.
Team Lifetime has no end date, so there is nothing to end early there either. What it carries instead is a guarantee: we keep the service available to it for at least 24 months. The one case where money comes back is us stopping, not you leaving — if we ever discontinue the service while a Founder term is still running, or inside Team Lifetime's 24-month window, we refund the unused whole months without you having to ask, and we give six months' notice first. The details are in our Terms, sections 8 and 10a.
Yes. Starter comes with a 14-day free trial. Add your card to start; €0 is charged today and billing of €6.99/mo begins only after day 14. Cancel any time before then from Team Manager → Plan & Billing or the Stripe portal and you pay nothing.
Billing is handled by the Super Team Manager who owns the team, so the whole team moves together on one plan. Change your plan, add servers or seats, or open the secure Stripe portal under Team Manager → Plan & Billing.
AutoMod runs rule-based filters on your server (spam, links, words and more). Zap is a one-click role that instantly strips a member’s permissions when you need to shut down trouble fast — you choose exactly which permissions it denies. Configure both under Bot Settings → Moderation. See AutoMod and Warnings, timeouts & Zap.
XMOD checks your standing in that Discord server before it acts. It refuses when the target's highest role is not below yours, when the target owns the server, when XMOD's own role sits below the target, or when your Discord account is not a member of that server. On top of that, each action needs the matching Discord permission on your account: Kick Members to kick, Ban Members to ban or unban, Moderate Members to warn, timeout or Zap, Move Members to disconnect from voice, and Manage Roles to change roles. Actions are also spaced about a second apart so a stuck button cannot fire a burst. See Moderating members.
You can see voice channels fill and empty live, with muted, deafened and Live markers, and you can right-click someone in voice to disconnect them or take any action they qualify for. Voice channels also open their built-in text chat. Stream previews are not possible - Discord does not send video to bots at all, so there is nothing to show. See The console.
Log retention depends on your plan — Starter 7 days, Pro 20, Team 40, and among the one-off plans Pro Founder 15, Team Founder 40, Team Lifetime 40. Older entries roll off automatically once they pass your window. See Logging.
Custom Send Commands are one-tap chips your team uses when moderating — they drop a ready-made message or action into a channel. Custom Commands are the ones your members run in Discord. Both live under Bot Settings.
A member-facing command can reply with plain text or a full embed (colour, title, author, images, footer and up to 25 fields), fill in variables like {user.mention}, {server} or {args}, and then do something afterwards: give or take roles, react, post a copy into another channel, or apply a warning, timeout, kick or ban. See Custom commands.
Yes. Each server picks under Bot Settings → Custom Commands: slash commands, a prefix typed in chat, or both. You choose the prefix character yourself — !, ?, . and most other punctuation. Letters and digits are not allowed because they would fire on ordinary words.
Reading chat needs the Message Content intent on your application (Discord developer portal, Bot, Privileged Gateway Intents). Slash commands work without it. Switching a server to prefix only also removes the slash commands from Discord, so the picker never offers a command that does nothing.
With a subteam. A subteam is a slice of your team: some of its servers, and the people who work on them. Build them under Team Manager → Subteams.
Access runs through subteams, so being on the team is not enough on its own — somebody in no subteam sees no servers at all. Somebody can be in several subteams and sees everything they add up to. Only the Super Team Manager who owns the team can change them, and they are never limited by them themselves. See Subteams.
Your sign-in stays in your browser — sharing the link does not sign anyone in as you, and you should log out on a shared computer. XMOD acts as a bot on your server with only the permissions you grant when you invite it; you can review or remove them in your Discord server settings at any time.
Yes. Any Discord token or credential the service needs to run the bot is held in an encrypted data store, never in plain text, and is used only to carry out the actions you ask for. You can revoke the bot’s access from your Discord server settings at any time. See Privacy.
