Moderating members
Open a server, find the member, and act. Every action takes a click or two and is written to your log.
The actions
- Warn - record a warning. Enough warnings can trigger automatic action.
- Timeout - mute someone for a set time.
- Zap - take away chosen permissions while they can still talk.
- Kick and Ban - remove someone from the server.
Timeouts and reasons come with one-tap presets you set per server, so the common cases are a single click. Full details on punishments are in Warnings, timeouts & Zap.
Who you are allowed to act on
Before any punishment, XMOD checks your own standing in that server - not just your role in the tool. An action is refused when:
- the target's highest role is not below your highest role;
- the target is the server owner;
- XMOD's own role sits below the target - move it higher in Server Settings, Roles;
- your Discord account is not a member of that server, so there is nothing to compare.
So a Moderator cannot ban someone whose Discord role sits above their own, even though both are on the same team in the tool. You get a plain reason back saying which of these applied.
You also need the Discord permission
On top of the role check, each action needs the matching permission on your own Discord account in that server:
- Kick Members - kick
- Ban Members - ban and unban
- Moderate Members - warn, timeout, untimeout, Zap and un-Zap
- Move Members - disconnect someone from a voice channel
- Manage Roles - add or remove a role
Moderation actions are spaced about a second apart per account. This is a floor on speed, not a daily cap - a real raid can still be handled at full pace, but a stuck button cannot fire a hundred bans in a burst.
